Vic Roads boss: We should work from home to ease Melbourne’s traffic woes
The head of Vic Roads has told Neil Mitchell organisations should look at changing work hours to ease congestion on Melbourne’s roads.
John Merritt said the number one reason our roads are banked up is because of people travelling to and from work.
“We’re encouraging our staff, perhaps you can work from home one or two days a week,” Mr Merritt said.
“I know for many of your listeners that’s not an option, but there is potentially 20-30 percent of the population for whom it is.”
He also said changing work hours from the traditional 9am-5pm Monday-Friday would ease congestion.
