Veteran detective celebrates 50th year at Victoria Police

At sixteen and a half years old Wayne Laver strode into his first day at Victoria Police, today marks his 50th year on the force.

Detective Senior Sergeant Wayne Laver is celebrating the achievement at the Police Academy today.

‘It’s been a great trip,’ he says.

When asked what has changed in the last 50 years he spoke of the enormous impact technological advances have had on the police force.
