V/Line commuters will be facing significant delays tomorrow morning due to industrial action planned between 3am to 7am.

Chief executive officer of V/Line, Matt Carrick, says no trains will be running before 8am with delays for the rest of the day.

“Our staff won’t be in position to run the services across the network, so one of the things we need to do is to get our trains and our services into position,” he told Heidi Murphy.

He also urged Victorians to avoid travelling if they don’t need to.

“We’ll have about 170 coaches deployed across the state but the truth is, there’s not enough coaches to be able to cater to the demand we normally have on a Wednesday morning,” he said.
