‘Utterly unacceptable’ state of streets around Richmond injecting facility called out

The state of streets around an inner-city safe injecting facility have been labelled ‘utterly unacceptable’ as a resident speaks out about the current state of her suburb.

Photos emerged of garbage and rubbish lining streets, which Shane McInnes said was simply not good enough.

Sharon Neven, who lives in Richmond, said the problem wasn’t a knew one and conceded the state of the streets was “very distressing” to witness.

“We’ve been living with this for a long time,” she told 3AW Afternoons.

“It’s very distressing, we’re really proud of Richmond and loving living there.”
