Ute careers into spectator at illegal hoon party

A man has suffered serious injuries in a hit-run at an illegal hoon meet at Derrimut overnight.

Police say the spectator, aged in his 20s, was hit by a white VE or VZ ute on Australis Drive about 10.45pm.

He remains in hospital with serious injuries.

Almost everyone, including the driver, fled the scene before police arrived.

No arrests have been made.
