United States hits ‘main artery’ of Russia’s economy
The United States has banned all imports of oil and gas from Russia.
President Joe Biden says it’s another blow to Putin’s ‘war machine’ and would hit the ‘main artery’ of Russia’s economy.
But he conceded it could also impact the prices in his own country, but measures would be taken to limit that.
McDonald’s has also temporarily shut its 850 stores in Russia in response to the war.
It follows the raft of existing sanctions and bans from other companies and countries.
“This is probably the most significant economic blockade I’ve seen imposed on any country, ever,” financier and sanctions campaigner Bill Browder told Ross and Russel.
“That includes South Africa during the apartheid years.
“You can’t use your credit card, you can’t watch Netflix, you can’t fly anywhere, you can’t get any imported goods, you can’t get McDonalds – you can’t do anything.
“It’s just incredible.”
But he isn’t expecting Vladimir Putin to roll over.
