Union secretary claims concerns regarding new prison builds were dismissed

The Victorian Government is on a hiring spree to recruit more prison officers as hundreds of beds have been left empty for over a year due to black mould.
Victorian secretary of the Community and Public Sector Union Karen Batt says the union has heard the affected materials had been left out in the elements.
“There were concerns prior to the build that was dismissed and so they’ve been built and now they’re unusable,” she told Tom Elliott.
