UFU boss explains why he doesn’t back Jane Garrett move

United Firefighters Union boss Peter Marshall has dismissed suggestions he’s trying to “destroy” Jane Garrett.

He told Tom Elliott the letter he sent to Labor MPs wasn’t personal.

“It’s not so much about Jane Garrett being in politics, however, it’s about having a good representative in parliament,” Mr Marshall said.

“We’ve got a very good relationship with the Andrews government.

“Under her leadership there was nothing but industrial disputation.”
