Two Melbourne quarantine hotels to become medi-hotels for COVID patients
Two of Melbourne’s quarantine hotels will be converted to medi-hotels for COVID-19 patients.
From Monday, the Pullman on Swanston and Mantra in Epping will begin hosting patients who need a lower level of care.
“This is where COVID patients nearing the end of their hospital stay can be transferred to complete their treatment,” acting Health Minister James Merlino said.
“These medi-hotels will provide hospital in the home-style care.”
The two medi-hotels will provide care for up to 300 COVID-19 patients at a time.
Care for patients in the medi-hotels will be managed by Northern Health and the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
