Truck driver’s emotional attempt to save a woman after car crash
A truck driver has opened up about his attempt to save a woman’s life after a serious car accident.
The woman died after her car veered across the road and struck a ute near Pakenham on Thursday.
Matthew Mitchell was was first at the scene, and told Neil Mitchell he didn’t think twice about stopping to help.
‘If you can help someone, you can help someone,’ Matthew said.
‘It’s a human being. Someone’s daughter, someone’s girlfriend.’
Neil commended Matthew for doing ‘a very difficult and brave thing’.
