Trent Cotchin doubles down on big Dustin Martin call

Trent Cotchin isn’t backing down from his belief that Dustin Martin will stay retired and not play for Gold Coast next year.

After it emerged Martin had reached out to the Suns to discuss playing on, Cotchin has been strong publicly that his former teammate was almost no chance of continuing his career.

When asked on Wide World of Sports whether he still shared that belief, Cotchin didn’t waver.

“I’m strong and confident that my statement around zero to one per cent (chance that he’s playing for Gold Coast in 2025),” he said on 3AW.

“Based on where they’re at in their journey, it’s a decision I’m not sure I’d entertain if I was in their position.”
