Police are still hunting for those responsible for a terrifying attack on three women on a Melbourne bus.

The women were on a route 828 bus from Dandenong Railway Station to Doveton on February 26 when they were allegedly set upon eight males.

The trio were violently attacked, with one victim left with a mild traumatic brain injury and a broken nose. The other two women suffered bruising.

Police Commissioner Shane Patton blasted the “cowardly” group behind the nasty attack.

“There were three young women who were attacked, and it was eight men. They were kicked, they were punched, one of them has a broken nose and as I understand one of them has a head injury,” he told Neil Mitchell.

“It was actually a very serious attack and we still don’t have the offenders.

“For something like this to happen on public transport is just horrendous.”

Police have released an image of two males who they’d like to speak to in relation to the incident.
