Tony Jones’ idea to revamp the AFL Grand Final
Nine News reporter and 3AW contributor Tony Jones has delivered his idea to revamp the AFL Grand Final moving forward.
Jones thinks the Saturday afternoon slot at 2:30pm is a “ratings graveyard” and has suggested a change of time for the game and to also move the public holiday.
“This goes against my very nature of being a traditionalist,” Jones told Tom Elliott on 3AW Mornings.

“It seems to be stuck in the ages a little bit,” Jones said about the AFL’s biggest game.
“We can’t just have TV dictating everything,” Elliott then responded.
