Tom Hawkins sent straight to the Tribunal

Tom Hawkins has been sent straight to the Tribunal.

The Geelong forward made contact with umpire Dean Margetts during the Cats’ win over GWS on Friday night.

Match Review Officer Michael Christian determined the contact was intentional.

Intentional contact with an umpire is a direct referral to the Tribunal and no early plea is available to the player.

Hawkins has also been offered a $2000 fine for engaging in rough conduct against Nick Haynes.

Meanwhile, GWS’ Adam Tomlinson can accept a $2000 fine for engaging in rough conduct against Jed Bews.
