Tom Hawkins’ ‘funny story’ before he told the club about his plans to retire!

Outgoing Geelong key forward Tom Hawkins had told the “funny story” involving a couple of his teammates before he told the club about his plans to retire!

“I had a good laugh afterwards,” Hawkins told Jacqui Felgate on 3AW Drive.

The Geelong great made the announcement about an hour after Dustin Martin called time on his career, with Dusty’s call “easing the nerves a little bit” before Hawkins delivered the news.
