Tom Elliott has a theory on why immigration across Australia is at record levels.

While COVID-related restrictions saw the country shut off to the rest of the world for an extended period, the number of people choosing to migrate to Australia has exploded since restrictions were eased in 2022.

“Over the last year 600,000 have been allowed to immigrate to Australia,” he said on 3AW Drive.

“It used to be about 120,000 at year about 2o years ago.”
