Tom Elliott’s free university proposal

Tom Elliott says he’d support a return to university being free in Australia again.

But the 3AW Drive host said it should come with one key proviso.

Roughly 20 per cent of school leavers went to university when Tom attended, with that figure now around 60 per cent.

“I think there are a lot of people doing degrees and racking up debts that won’t actually get them jobs in the long run,” he said.
