Tom Elliott speaks with Gavin Jennings about the overhaul of MP entitlements

Only MPs representing regional seats will be entitled to the controversial second residence allowance.

Sweeping changes will come into effect over the next 18 months in the wake of the scandal involving the former speaker and deputy speaker, who made claims to live in the country, despite representing metropolitan seats.

Special Minister of State Gavin Jennings says there will be a new set of checks and balances for every claim made.

He spoke with Tom Elliott shortly after the news was announced.
