Tom Elliott slams Ambulance Victoria again as second illegal COVID funeral comes to light

Tom Elliott has hit out at Ambulance Victoria again, after a second illegal funeral gathering during the COVID lockdown came to light this morning.

It comes after the 3AW Mornings host criticised Ambulance Victoria last week, revealing the personal reason why he was so upset at the first admission of an illegal funeral at the height of the pandemic.

“It’s just appalling, it really is … it makes my blood boil,” he said.

“I was upset, pissed off to be honest, about many of the lockdown rules.

“I want to find out how this went on, who thought it could be a good idea?”

Secretary of the Victorian Ambulance Union, Danny Hill, said he didn’t know about the funerals when they happened, but found out a year later.

“Can I just make one clarification, categorically no paramedics attended the funeral ceremonies,” Mr Hill told Tom Elliott.

“I get that anger, but it’s not a reflection of the entire workforce.”
