Tom Elliott has been left perplexed by footage which has emerged of police looking like bystanders when a fight broke out on the streets of North Melbourne on Saturday morning.

The Halloween rave quickly turned violent, with young rapper ‘Peezy’ shot dead at 3:15am.

“Why wouldn’t the police intervene?” the 3AW Mornings host said.

Retired Victoria Police detective, Charlie Bezzina, then joined the program and said the situation is not a good look.

“Not good optics, absolutely shocking optics for the general public and sends the completely wrong message,” Mr Bezzina told Tom Elliott.
