The Victorian government is starting to “fracture” over the controversial building of the Suburban Rail Loop, according to Tom Elliott.

Deputy Premier Ben Carroll reportedly now doesn’t support the project, with the 3AW Mornings host saying he doubts whether the entirely of the loop will ever be built.

“The government is starting to fracture on this issue,” he said on 3AW Mornings.

“The Suburban Rail Loop in my view is a pipe dream, it is something we can’t afford.”

Opposition leader John Pesutto said the internal battle between ministers highlights the “blowouts and the secrecy” within the current government.
