Tom Elliott has clashed with a Lebanese community leader after it emerged western Sydney school teachers lead students in a ‘Allahu Akbar’ chant recently.

Pro-Palestinian teachers at a western Sydney school led the protest alongside students, ignoring warnings from NSW Premier Chris Minns about not airing their political views.

Lebanese Muslim Association Gamel Kheir compared the chant to Australians chanting ‘Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oi Oi Oi’, which the 3AW Mornings host called out live on-air.

The 3AW Mornings host couldn’t believe what he was seeing, saying he was bemused that teachers at Granville Boys High School were involving themselves in Middle East politics.

“Australia’s social cohesion is on the verge of being completely broken,” he said on 3AW Mornings.

“This wasn’t just a group of teenage boys, they were led by their teachers.”
