Tom Elliott clashes with human rights lawyer over the released immigration detainees
Tom Elliott has clashed with a human rights lawyer over the released immigration detainees as three have been charged since they were released.
Executive director of Refugee Legal. David Manne, says they had already served their sentence and if they were Australian citizens, they would have been allowed back into society.
“You can’t just hold them indefinitely and possibly forever, and certainly not on the basis of offences they might have committed where they’ve already served their sentence,” he told Tom Elliott.
