Tom Elliott calls for Lidia Thorpe’s resignation after ’embarrassing’ outburst

Tom Elliott has called for Lidia Thorpe to resign from her position as senator after she heckled King Charles in Canberra on Monday.

Ms Thorpe was escorted out of Parliament after screaming at the King during a ceremony to mark his historic five-day visit to Australia.

The 3AW Mornings host said she embarrassed the country and should resign if “she hates Australia so much”.

“Lidia Thorpe is an embarrassment,” Tom Elliott said.

“She should stand down (from her role) if she hates Australia so much.”
