Generous 3AW listeners donate to get new TLC for Kids ambulance on the road!
The second TLC for Kids ambulance has is about to hit the road… and it’s been named ‘The Mitch’ in honour of Neil Mitchell!
Neil helped the charity get back on track when it ran into trouble in 2002, and when a paramedic put forward the idea for TLC ambulances on 3AW Mornings in 2018, the charity’s new initiative was born.
The Mitch ambulance is almost ready to go, but before it can start transporting sick kids, TLC for Kids needed $4000 to buy an accessible wheelchair.

CEO and founder of TLC for Kids, Tim Conolan, says the ambulance will help more terminally ill kids like Olivia, who hadn’t left hospital for seven months, get out and about with their families.
“The smiles and laughter she had, they said it was the first time for months that she actually experienced a massive smile on her face,” he told Neil Mitchell.
