‘Threats to kill’ as teenager gets bashed and robbed in Epping attack

A teenager was allegedly bashed and robbed by another teen in Mebourne’s north overnight.

An 18-year-old has been charged with armed robbery, threats to kill and possessing a controlled weapon following the incident at Epping this morning.

It’s believed the victim, 19, was walking along Cooper Street when he was approached by the attacker.

The alleged offender is accused of intimidating the young man with a knife before bashing him and stealing his phone.

Officers assessed the victim for facial swelling and bruising but he did not need hospital treatment.

The alleged attacker fled on foot but was arrested by officers soon after.
