‘These are kids!’: Tom Elliott takes pro-Palestinian protester to task as she accuses him of trivialising Israel-Hamas war

A pro-Palestinian protester has accused Tom Elliott of trivialising the Israel-Hamas war, as protesters swarm Footscray High School against education minister, Ben Carroll.

Member of Teachers and School Staff for Palestine, Lucy Honan, says students at Footscray High School have chosen to protest for Palestine, and were against the minister visiting, after he signed an MOU with the Israeli Defence Force in 2022.

Elliott then responded telling Ms Honan, she should teach both sides of the conflict, and questioned if she told her students who to vote for.

“These are kids! If a teacher says ‘you must all stand for Palestine’, then that’s what they’ll do, because the teacher tells them … You’ve got to teach both sides!” he said.
