The unusual plan to transform a country Victorian hotel

Gippsland locals will be able to purchase a new tractor at the pub if an unusual plan gets the green light from Wellington Shire Council.

The dormant Macalister Hotel in the Gippsland town of Maffra could soon become an Ag Farm Machinery tractor showroom and bar, with plans for the transformation currently before council.

“The old façade is going to stay the same, and a showroom with new tractors so basically you can sit there at the bar and through the glass doors is these new tractors so you can wander around and see if you can buy a tractor,” Stock and Land journalist Ed Gannon told Ross and Russel.
