Leigh Matthews says he’s mortified by one umpiring decision out of Round 13.
In West Coast’s match against North Melbourne on Saturday, Jy Simpkin was awarded a contentious holding the ball free kick late in the game after Elliot Yeo took possession of the ball.
The football legend came off the long run, slamming the AFL’s recent mid-season holding the ball interpterion change which largely led to the decision being awarded.

“The AFL said that was a correct ruling,” Matthews told Wide World of Sports.
“I am mortified.”
