Road safety experts have warned Australian motorists are dangerously arrogant about their driving.

The Australian Road Safety Foundation found while 99 per cent of Australians claim they’re safe drivers, 71 per cent admit to breaking road rules, and 54 per cent say they knowingly take risks on the roads.

CEO of the Australian Road Safety Foundation, Russell White, says “troubling” changes have emerged since lockdown.

“In a post-COVID world it does appear that culture has changed and the view to risk has changed, and certainly people’s tolerance on the road has changed,” he told Ross and Russel.

Mr White says motorists must understand that driving is the most dangerous thing they do on a daily basis.
