Matthew Lloyd has addressed the pressure on North Melbourne to put up a solid showing on Good Friday, revealing Essendon’s players were once read the riot act before an Anzac Day clash in a period they struggled to get near Collingwood.

Lloyd said on 3AW Football he wasn’t sure just how true it was, but the players were addressed by the CEO pre-game, who said there was pressure coming from the AFL on the Bombers to perform, or risk losing their spot in the marquee fixture.
