The steps to revitalise a popular St Kilda shopping strip

A once popular shopping strip in St Kilda is in crisis as up to 16 shops were left abandoned on Acland Street over the weekend, leading to an abundance of lease signs popping up along the street.

The street is tram only after it was blocked for vehicles back in 2016, with traders upset at the lack of atmosphere and increased drinking in the street.

Mayor of the City of Port Phillip, Heather Consulo, believes opening the road is not going to solve the issue and believes there is a bigger problem at bay.
