A new poll shows a staggering two-thirds of people agree young Australians will never be able to buy a home.

The Resolve Political Monitor poll, conducted for The Age, found 63 per cent of low-income earners and 54 per cent of people on middle incomes don’t believe they’ll ever own their own home.

Since 2005, mortgages held by the big four banks have increased from $364 billion to almost $1.6 trillion.
