Secretary of the Police Association, Wayne Gatt, has shed light on the “fairly significant” escalation in the ongoing pay dispute between police members and force command.

Police industrial action is set to ramp up next Friday, with the union boss stating it’s “quite unusual behaviour” for his members.

“We haven’t had to resort to anything like this before,” Gatt told Jacqui Felgate on 3AW Drive.

“It’s increasingly disappointing … all we’re asking for is the government to come to the table with a counter-offer,” he said.
