The “serious concerns” around Tom Scully’s ankle
Mitch Cleary says the Giants have “serious concerns” about Tom Scully’s troublesome ankle.
Eyebrows were raised in footy world when the line-breaking midfielder was traded to Hawthorn for just a future fourth-round pick in return.
But the newsbreaker told Trade Wrap there was more at play.
“The Giants aren’t willing to deal with (Tom Scully’s injury) and they’re happy to pass it on to the Hawks.
“Essentially, this is a salary dump. The AFL have been big on this, especially this year.
“The Hawks will absorb between $500-600,000 a year for Tom Scully for the next two years plus another year on the end.
“They’re going to back themselves to get his body right.”
