The ‘secretive operation’ to reunite one of Australian TV’s most memorable couples

A “secret operation” has been underway to get Australian TV’s most memorable couples back on screens together one last time.

Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan will reunite on the final episode of Neighbours.

Producers of the soap announced in March that it was coming to an end after 37 years.

Entertainment reporter Peter Ford says there’s been a “secretive operation” to get the two stars back for the show’s finale.

“I’m told most cast members knew nothing about it until they read about it … yesterday morning,” he said.

“People may not realise how busy Jason is — he never stops working. In fact at the moment he’s touring the UK in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.

“It’s going to be a special thing for the last episode.”
