3AW Drive host Jacqui Felgate says it’s “little wonder’ the AFL is yet to have a player come out as gay as the league hands down another ban to a player for a homophobic slur.
St Kilda’s Lance Collard has been handed a six-game ban for multiple homophobic slurs he made during a VFL game over the weekend, while Will Powell and Jeremy Finlayson were earlier in the season also banned for similar incidents.

“It’s little wonder that we’re yet to have a single player feel comfortable in men’s football come out as gay,” Jacqui Felgate on 3AW.
“Of course it’s their choice, but why would you when you could be subject to this kind of abuse.”
