The punishment a former Socceroos captain thinks pitch invaders should face
A former Socceroos captain is calling for harsh penalties for those involved in Saturday night’s violent pitch invasion at AAMI Park.
Paul Wade says lifetime bans from A-League matches aren’t enough.
“I would like a stamp on their passports saying criminal. Bang, guilty,” the former Socceroo told Tony Jones, filling in for Neil Mitchell.

“We’ve been doing life bans forever and its not changed anybody’s mind,” Wade said.
“Get them put in jail.
“Whatever it takes to send a clear message to somebody out there who’s thinking about repeating what just happened not to do it. If that had happened in the street they’d be in court straight away, locked up in a cell.”
