The ‘points of worry’ that have emerged in Victorian schools post-lockdown
Disruptive behaviour and poor student wellbeing have become massive problems in Victoria’s schools post-lockdown.
The results of a survey of 12,000 students, seen by The Age, reveals 40 per cent of students have been experiencing problems with sleeping.
Girls are reporting more distress about bullying and boys have reported being less able to ask for help.
Berwick Lodge Primary School principal, Henry Grossek, says “there’s a lot of points of worry” in schools.
He says some students have forgotten how to behave.
“They can’t resolve conflicts as well,” he told Tony Jones, filling in for Neil Mitchell.
“We’re finding that for quite a few children we’ve got to do a lot more getting back to the basics on how to relate to each other,” he said.
