The new mobile phone and seatbelt cameras set to be trialled in Victoria
New high technology mobile phone and seat belt cameras are set to be trialled in Victoria, with the aim of penalising drivers on their mobile phones or not wearing seat belts.
The cameras have been in use in Queensland for 12 months, and have caught around 120,000 drivers using their phones while driving and around 52,000 drivers not wearing a seat belt.
Russell White, Founder and CEO of the Australian Road Safety Foundation, explained to Tom Elliott how the cameras will be rolled out in Victoria.
