The new legislation being pushed for in wake of Liam Payne’s death
Fans of the late British singer Liam Payne are pushing for new legislation which would help protect the mental health of public figures.
The former One Direction star died last week after falling off a balcony in Buenos Aires, prompting an outpouring of grief from fans globally.

While Pete Ford says the idea is good, he doubts the mooted legislation would have any tangible benefit.
“Thousands of people are signing up for this,” he said on 3AW Breakfast.
“(This would be legislation) somehow protect vulnerable music performers, it’s a lovely idea but how do you put that into practice.”
