The ‘million dollar’ question surrounding government hospital boost
The task of finding an extra 400 people to boost numbers in our hospitals is underway.
The Victorian government has promised the extra staff as part of a $162 million boost to the stretched healthcare system.
Victorian Secretary of the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation, Lisa Fitzpatrick, told Neil Mitchell advertising had already started.
But she said it was unclear exactly how long it would be until those staff were working in hospitals.
“That’s the million dollar question,” she said.
