The mayor campaigning to keep the Commonwealth Games in Australia
With the Commonwealth Games inquiry beginning today, one mayor is campaigning to keep the Games in Australia.
Mayor of the Gold Coast, Tom Tate, says they can hold the Games and will front the inquiry this afternoon.
“We went through the figures and we want the federal government to reprovision what they were going to put in to the Victorian government on operational part [sic], … it’s $200 million and then they CPI’d [sic] it, and that comes to about $260 – well that’s what I want from the feds,” he told Neil Mitchell.
