The Australian Open is charging a staggering $99 for tournament branded water bottles.

“I reckon they’re the sort that might sell for $19.99,” Neil Mitchell said of the drink bottles.

One tennis fan who went to the tournament yesterday says they weren’t the only thing that was overpriced.

“It was absolutely ridiculous, the prices,” Merryn told Neil Mitchell.

“A little can of gin and lemon was $11.70, but if you wanted non-alcoholic it was $11.50.

“My daughter bought bao buns for lunch — $18 for two little bao buns — chicken skewers were $18 and a bottle of water was $5.60.”
