The latest on the suspicious fire at Caulfield Racecourse this morning

Incident controller at Fire Rescue Victoria, Dennis Smith, has shed light on a suspicious fire which broke out in one of the grandstands at Caulfield Racecourse this morning.

Up to 16 fire trucks and dozens of firefighters attended the scene, with smoke visible from several surrounding suburbs.

“Thankfully no impact to the community and definitely no horses, which is great news,” Mr Smith said on 3AW Breakfast.

The fire tore through the heritage-listed Norman Robinson stand, which was built in 1960.
