Miner dead following Mount Clear gold mine collapse near Ballarat

The gold miner trapped underground at the Mount Clear gold mine has sadly died.

Initially two gold miners were pinned by falling rocks but one of them was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Another 29 miners were safely extracted from the mine last night.
