The latest details as Victoria Police pay dispute dramatically escalates

Victoria Police’s current pay dispute has escalated dramatically, with the Fair Work Commission called in on Monday to independently rule on the impasse.

Police confirmed they had called in the independent body to help settle the pay war, saying there was “no reasonable prospect” of the police union and Victoria Police come to an agreement.

Jacqui Felgate said it was simply time to pay the police force what they’re worth.

“Why is it so hard to pay police what they are worth,” Jacqui Felgate questioned on 3AW Drive.

“I just shake my head and wonder how it has come to this.”
