The island that’s being touted as the pandemic alternative to Bali
With quarantine requirements still in place for Australians travelling to Bali, many are looking for an alternative location for a beachside getaway.
Hawaii, which has no quarantine requirements for Australian travellers, is being touted as the perfect destination.
“Hawaii has got those same beautiful beaches, it’s got mountains, waterfalls, friendly people, beautiful food. I think it’s a really good alternative,” travel commentator Lynette Bolton told Shane McInnes, filling in for Neil Mitchell.
“From the second you land in Hawaii, you get that hit of warm air, you know you’re on a tropical island … you know you’re on a holiday.”
Australians must be vaccinated against COVID-19 to travel to Hawaii by plane, and must show proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken no more than one day prior to their last leg of travel.
