The iconic Melbourne location labelled the ‘most popular attraction’
Queen Victoria Market has been labelled the most popular tourist spot with 10 million visitors in a year as more domestic tourists visit Melbourne compared to international tourists.
Chief executive officer of the Tourism and Transport Forum, Margy Osmond, says the face of the tourist is changing as more Australians want to discover parts of their own cities.
“We are seeing a lot of interest in things that might not of been on the top of the list previously because perhaps we were going for things that were a bit more blitzy that might appeal to international visitors,” she told Tom Elliott, filling in for Neil Mitchell.
