Meg Lanning is being celebrated as one of the most decorated cricketers in Australian history after announcing her retirement on Thursday.
The Australian women’s cricket team captain called time on her international cricket career aged 31, leading her country to eight World Cup victories and three Ashes series wins.

“She’s been captaining Australia since she was 21 years old,” veteran cricket writer Peter Lalor told Jimmy Bartel, filling in for Sam McClure on Wide World of Sports.
“80 per cent of the games she’s captained, Australia has won.”
